Vaughn Woods, owner of La Playa Gallery is always on the lookout for fantastic new artists to showcase in his gallery. Maybe you will be the next big discovery.
This gallery is in a great location in La Jolla Shores, on a busy street everyone walks down to get to the beach. It’s in an upscale neighborhood with lots of locals who regularly attend the art receptions.
Surfing Madonna Oceans Project wants to help support La Playa Gallery in finding new artists to represent, and to encourage the community to view art with inspired arts programming.
We seek to motivate and showcase artists to achieve their best possible outcome by showing and selling their work in great galleries.

Surfing Madonna Oceans Project is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Encinitas, California and was officially formed in 2013 by Robert Nichols and Mark Patterson (artist of the Surfing Madonna mosaic). The specific purpose for forming the nonprofit was to conserve, maintain and promote the public display of art and to promote environmental conservation efforts. Our intention is to partner with local arts groups and recognize the excellence of local artists and promote the arts through media. We strive to share our resources and create opportunities for local artists by giving awards, producing programming and creating opportunities for the public to share in the arts.
